Retrospective Evaluation of the Efficiency of Therapeutic Plasmapheresis in Thyrotoxic Patients

Background: Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is a treatment method that can be used to provide euthyroidism before permanent in patients with severe thyrotoxicosis, cases of thyroid storm and where antithyroid drug (ATD) cannot due side effects or ineffectiveness. This study presented our results experience on TPE thyrotoxic patients.
 Material Methods: The data 10 who underwent plasmapheresis for thyrotoxicosis Bursa Uludag University Faculty Medicine Endocrinology Clinic were retrospectively analyzed compared the literature.
 Results: Ten patients, 6 female 4 male, included. cause hyperthyroidism was Graves’ disease 8 toxic multinodular goiter (TMNG) 2 patients.
